Club News - 29th December 2023Very sad news day today our long time club member Graham Cross (Crossey) passed away this morning following a heart attack on Christmas Day.RIP Graham lots of love to your family and friendsWhat a wonderful guy! A true gentleman & loyal friend! He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him! When I first met him many years ago we had a nickname for him! Jason ! as he very much look like the TV character, Jason King from the 70s. I will miss him so much! RIP Graham.Club News - 21st December 2023With only a few days away from the 2023 festive season!We are wishing all our friends and our members and their families a Very Merry Christmas! & Happy New Year 2023Club News - 28th September 2023Stevenage Town Bowls Club hosted the Letchworth & District Finals. In a feat which we believe has never been done before, Baldock won all six trophies. Jamie Claydon won the Champion of Champions, Aaron Heath won the singles, Martin Roberts and Rob Dempster won the pairs, Mary Ann Haskins and her husband Paul won the Mixed Pairs, Dave Davies, Brian Todd and Mike Parsons won the Triples. Brian Todd, Dave Davies, Peter Ellis and Mike Parsons won the Fours and finally we won the Cairns Cup in the final against Royston. On Sunday the closing stages of the County League was played at Sawbridgeworth. We lost to the eventual champions Garston in the semi final but beat St. Albans Townsend to finish third. A good finish to the outdoor season.In the Stevenage & District Mixed Bowls League 2023 we came 2nd overall an improvement on last year 3rd place! Club News - 4th September 2023There were two Stevenage & District Mixed League games this week. We lost to Riverain on all three rinks but beat Howard Garden on two rinks with a score of 57-41. In the County League the semi final and final of the Northern Section was played at Letchworth Bowls Club. Having beaten Howard Garden in the semi there followed a very close Final against Royston which we just won 38-37. We will now play in the County finals later this month.
Club News - 28th August 2023In the National Championships at Leamington Spa we had two members representing Hertfordshire in the Junior Men’s Competition. Sam Andrews beat Northumberland representative 21-15 but lost to Lancashire 16-21. Hayden Chambers lost to Lincolnshire 6-21. Our ladies played a league game against Three Horseshoes and won 46 shots to 30.In two friendly matches we lost to Biggleswade St.Andrews 40-73 but beat Buntingford 80-47.Club News - 21st August 2023In the North Herts Ladies Finals two of our bowlers contested the singles final. In a very close finish Mary Ann Haskins managed to get 3 shots on the last end to beat Wendy Budge by 22-20. We also had success in the Triples final when Mary Ann and Wendy were joined by Janet Turner to win comfortably by ten shots. In a friendly game we lost to Biggleswade Town 57-74. In the County League we beat Stevenage 40-29 to qualify for the Area Semi Final. Finally, in the Stevenage Mixed League we beat Riverain 54-46 to gain 5 points to 1 and retain our position on top of the league.
Club News - 14th August 2023In our friendly game at Luton West End we won 80-54. In the Cairns Cup Final we played Royston home and away and won 77-53. In the Stevenage & District Mixed League we retained our top place by beating Three Horseshoes 53-50 gaining 5 points to 1. In the SDML Knockout Final we beat St.Ippollitts 99-55. Finally, in a friendly against Letchworth Conservatory Club we won 67-29. A great week for Baldock.
Club News - 8th August 2023In the North Herts Ladies League we played at home against Riverain and won 40-26. In the Men’s County League we won at Whitethorn 51-22. In a friendly at Sandy Town we lost 57-75. In the Semi Final of the Cairns Cup our two teams played each other with the B Team proving comfortable winners. Finally we played Stotfold for the Maurice Dear Memorial Trophy, which we last won in 2015, I this occasion we won 79-62.Club News - 31st July 2023Yesterday was County Finals Day. In the all Baldock Junior Singles Sam Andrews beat Hayden Chambers 21-4. Both lads will represent Hertfordshire in the National Championships at Leamington next month. The Hertfordshire quarterfinal of the Club Championship saw us play Royston in a very close match. Over the three rinks, with one end to play the tie was all square. Royston scored two shots to see them go through to the semi final. In the two mid-week friendlies we beat Harpenden 55-42 but lost to Shephalbury 56-79. In the County League we beat Hitchin 43-21. Finally, in the Stevenage Mixed League we lost to Datchworth 51-61 only gaining one point but retaining our position at the top of the table.
Club News - 23rd July 2023Good week for Baldock in the team competitions. We are through to the SDML Knockout final following a 86-50 victory over Stevenage Town. Baldock A is through to the semi-final of the Cairns Cup following a 93-59 win over Letchworth GC. Baldock B are also through to the Cairns cup semi-finals. Beating St.Ippollitts 103-47. The week was rounded out with a 56-40 win away to St.Ippollitts in the SDML league. Next up we have the area final of the Men's Club Championship at home on Monday evening. Support would be much appreciated.Club News - 17th July 2023In the County League both the men and ladies played Three Horseshoes. The men lost 32-35 whilst the ladies won 23-15. In National Competitions - the Mixed Pairs, Wendy and Steve Budge reached the Hertfordshire Final where they lost 12-18 to a pair from Garston and Welwyn and District. In the Senior Fours the rink of Brian Todd, Dave Davies, Peter Ellis and Mike Parsons have reached the Hertfordshire Semi Final by beating a team from Potters Bar 18-12. Both Sam Andrews and Hayden Chambers have reached the Hertfordshire Junior Singles Semi Final and Jamie Claydon the Herts Two Wood Semi Final.
Club News - 10th July 2023In the County Top Ten we travelled to Berkhamsted and lost by 2 and a half disciplines to 1 and a half. In the ladies county league we lost to Royston by 14 shots to 16. In the Men's County League we beat Aston 49-23. In a friendly game we lost to Fairfield by 78 shots to 68. Finally, in the Stevenage Mixed League we beat Howard Garden on all three rinks with a score of 59-35.
Club News - 3rd July 2023Last week In the Hertfordshire Men's County Singles 4th round all three of the clubs representatives, Sam Andrews, Brian Todd & Mike Parsons are though to the last 16 which is to be played this Friday 7th July. In the Last 16 of County Pairs, Sam Andrews & Paul Haskins are though to the Quarter Finals on Tuesday 4th July at Berkhamsted BC. In a friendly game last week we lost at Whitethorne by 71 shots to 61. In the Stevenage Mixed League we played Stevenage Town and won on all three rinks with a score of 65-44. This secured us all six points and retained our position at the top of the mixed league.Club News - 29th June 2023In our two mid week friendly games we beat Stevenage by 44 shots to 40, but lost to Sandy Town 57-77. In the Hertfordshire semi final of the Men’s Top Club we lost at Royston by 3 disciplines to 2. In the Cairns Cup we beat Hitchin by 24 shots. In the two Stevenage Mixed League games this weekend we beat Knebworth 51-37 and Three Horseshoes 68-43 gaining 5 points to 1 in both games.Club News - 22nd June 2023Club News - 19th June 2023In our friendly game during the week we lost to Buntingford BC by 70 shots to 73. At the weekend we travelled to Rosedale BC in the Tony Allcock National Trophy. In a tense finish, over the two mixed rinks, Baldock lost by one shot. A disappointing week.Club News - 9th June 2023
Club News - 5th June 2023In our friendly matches this week against Hitchin and Potters Bar we won both 64-53 and 64-59 respectively. In the National Two Fours we played away against Royston. A very tight match finished 29-29 with Baldock winning the extra end. In the Stevenage and District Mixed League we beat Letchworth Garden City 63-38 to retain our top position. In the National Tony Alcock Competition we beat Sawbridgeworth 36-29. Finally, in the County Two Wood area final at Datchworth an all Baldock final resulted in Jamie Claydon beating Steve Budge.
Club News - 30th May 2023First ever fixed jack competition was held today and won by Sam Andrews who narrowly beat Hayden Chambers in a thrilling final. Thanks goes out to the Chamber’s family for organising and running the event and to Harry for supplying the hot dog lunch which was greatly appreciated. To everyone who turned up today playing or watching see you all next year for a repeat 👏👏👏
Club News - 29th May 2023A successful week for Baldock. In the Stevenage Mixed Bowls League we beat St. Ippollitts 56-40 gaining 5 points out of 6. In the National Tony Alcock Competition we won 40-28 against Hertford and in the National Top Club Competition we beat Buntingford by 3 disciplines to 2.
Club News - 25th May 2023In a mid-week friendly we visited Stevenage and won 64-29. On Saturday we hosted Sandy Conservative Club in a friendly and lost 74-78. On Sunday we had a Stevenage Mixed League game at Stevenage. We won on all three rinks to win 47-37 and take all 6 points.

Club News - 15th May 2023There were two mid-week friendlies. The first one at Stevenage was abandoned when the green flooded. We then beat Welwyn Garden City 68-25. Our ladies beat St.Ippolyts 16-14 in the County League. During the weekend we had two Stevenage Mixed League games. We beat Aston 69-32 to gain 6 points and beat Datchworth 43-40 gaining 4 points to 2. We are at present top of the Stevenage & District Mixed Bowls League! To see league table Press Here

Club News - 1st May 2023Baldock Town got off to a flying start with a win over Fairfield BC 53-35 and in the Stevenage Mixed BowlsLeague we beat Knebworth BC 52-47 scoring 5pts to 1. Our League match on Sunday with Holwell was cancelled.On Bank Holiday Monday there was a very successful Open Day.It was well attended with many people signing on to join the club.Club News - 28th April 2023Spencer Dean funeral will be on Wednesday 10th May 2023, 3:00pm at North Herts Memorial Park And Crematorium (Holwell).Full details can be found by clicking the link below:Club News - 24th April 2023It is with great sadness to announce that our Past President Spencer Deane passed away on the afternoon of the 23rd April, at the Royal Papworth Hospital following complications from his recent Double Lung Transplant. We send our love and condolences to Spencer’s wife Alex, daughter Sophie and the rest of the family. Spencer will be deeply missed.
