Club News 22nd September 2025The Last of the Letchworth & District Finals was played this week. In the Fours Final between two Baldock Teams, it came down to the last bowl. Steve Budge, Martin Roberts, Paul Andrews and Sam Andrews won by 1 shot against Dave Davis, Ian Chambers, Brian Todd and Mike Parsons.
We were Runners-up in the Stevenage & District Mixed Bowls League for 2025, That’s it for this season. BTClub News 15th September 2025We had a very busy weekend. In the final stages of The County League we beat Garston by 8 shots in the semi final. In a very tense final we lost by 2 shots against Buntingford. In the Letchworth and District Finals we were very well represented. In the singles final Paul Andrews beat his son Sam. The pairs final was also an all Baldock affair with Lorcan Saunders and Darren Hickin beating Steve Budge and Aaron Heath on an extra end. The Triples Final saw Harry Undrell, Martin Roberts and Hayden Chambers beating a team from Royston. The Fours final was postponed due to a flooded green. In a friendly game we beat Henlow 81-77. BTClub News 9th September 2025In our Club Finals weekend here are our winners - Ladies Champion Megan Mackinnon, Men’s Champion Martin Roberts, Open Sets John Graham, Men’s Handicap Sam Andrews, Ladies Handicap Sarah Berry, Fixed Jack-Wendy Budge, Graded Pairs - Matt Hayzelden and Hayden Chambers, Open Pairs - Ian Chambers and Sam Andrews, Challenge Shield - Matt Undrell, Men’s Two Bowl - Sam Andrews, Ladies Two Bowl- Julie Undrell, and Open Triples - Julie Mutter, Sofie Harrington(reserve), Matt Hayzelden and Harry Undrell. Elsewhere In friendlies we beat Letchworth 98-35 and a touring team from Gravesend 126-48. BTClub News 1st September 2025The Hertfordshire County North Area League Finals took place at Baldock this weekend.
In the Semi Final our Team beat St.Ippolyts 52-15 and in the Final we beat Stevenage 36-24. We will now play the County Finals at Garston later this month.In the Stevenage Mixed League in our final game, we beat Howard Garden 55-47 gaining 4 points to 2.
Although we currently retain our top position there are teams with games in hand that can catch us. In the Triples Competition Wendy Budge, Mary Ann Haskins and Kim Dear won the Triples against Letchworth. On Wednesday we had our first Gala for over 25 years. It was a huge success with 24 teams taking part. The winners were a rink from Stevenage. We won the Cairns Cup against Royston 63-51. We have now won it for the last three years. In the Stevenage Mixed league we beat Royston 36-35 and Howard Garden 75-30 gaining 11 points out of 12. In a friendly game we beat Buntingford 70-36.

In the Tony Allcock Competition (two over 60 mixed rinks) we beat Ashford in Kent 42-24 in the Quarter Final. The semi-final saw us beat Carlisle in Cumbria 38-32. In the National Final we were beaten 17-40 by an excellent side from Gerard’s Cross. We are very proud to have got so far and were well supported by lots of travelling members. In the Cairns Cup semi final we beat Stevenage 80-49. In the National Tony Allcock Trophy we beat a team from Northampton 33-29 to reach the Quarter Final at Leamington Spa later this week. We won the Stevenage and District knockout cup beating Datchworth 111-48. This is the fourth consecutive year we have won it. In the league we beat Three Horseshoes 57-38. In friendly matches we beat Letchworth Conservatives 80-47 and Luton West End 75-38. BTClub News - 4th August 2025Two of our young members reached the County Finals. Sam Andrews lost 13-21 in the Junior Singles but then joined Hayden Chambers to win the Junior Pairs 17-11. In the County Leagues our ladies beat Three Horseshoes 24-16 whilst the man beat Whitethorn 45-23. In the Stevenage Mixed League we beat Riverain 67-30 and Holwell 62-38. In the Cairns Cup we beat Holwell 98-50. Finally in the annual Maurice Dear Cup we beat Stotfold 91-50. BTClub News - 28th July 2025In the National Tony Allcock Competition we played the Hertfordshire Final against Welwyn & District at Harpenden. We managed to win 40-28 and now play a team from Northampton in the last 16. In the County Team Championship we lost at Royston by 5 shots. In the Stevenage Mixed League we beat Datchworth 55-47 gaining 5 points to 1. In two friendly games we beat Harpenden 62-57 but lost to Shephalbury 64-71. BTClub News - 21st July 2025In the County Top Ten Competition we beat Bushey in the Quarter Final by 4 disciplines to 1. In the Semi final we lost to the eventual winners Garston by 4 disciplines to 0. In the Ladies Top Club we reached the County Final but lost to Royston by 3 disciplines to 1. In the Stevenage Mixed League we beat Royston 63-61 gaining 4 points to 2 and in the Knockout Cup we beat Howard Garden 99-52. Finally in two friendlies we lost to Stotfold 46-84 but beat Barton Le Clay 79-43. BTClub News - 14th July 2025We have had a very successful weekend. In the Hertfordshire Final of the National Two Fours we played Garston and won 38-34. In the Area Final of the Tony Allcock we played Bishop Stortford and won 39-21. In the Hertfordshire Club Championship we played Datchworth and won 62-43. BTClub News - 7th July 2025In the County Top Ten Competition we played Welwyn Garden City and won by 3 disciplines to 1. In the Ladies Top Club County Semi Final we played Hertford and won 79-64. In the Stevenage Mixed league we played Letchworth. We won 75-29 gaining 5 points to 1. Finally, in two friendly games we beat Steeple Morden 67-56 but lost to Fairfield Park 57-75. BTClub News - 30th June 2025In the National Two Rink Competition we beat Buntingford 40-31 to reach the Hertfordshire final. In the Tony Allcock Competition we beat Northaw and Cuffley 32-30.
In the Ladies Top Team we beat Bishops Stortford 66-53. In the Stevenage Mixed league we beat Stevenage 50-47 to score 5 points to 1.
Finally in a friendly game we beat Langford by 56 shots to 46.BTClub News - 25th June 2025In the County Top Ten competition we visited Whit Hern Bowls Club and won by 3 disciplines to 1.
In two friendly games we lost to Shephalbury 51-60 and beat Sandy Town 50-36. BTClub News - 17th June 2025It is with great sadness to announce, Brian Leadley passed away peacefully 11th June. He was a dedicated member of Baldock BC and held many roles at Baldock Bowls Club and Avenue Park Sports Club, as well as being Assistant Secretary of the Letchworth & District Bowls Association and a Committee member of the County North Area. Brian was a Life Member of Hertfordshire Bowls. Funeral details will be circuited once we know them. We all send our thoughts to his daughter Jo and their family. Please find detail below for Brian Leadley's Funeral on Thursday 3rd July at 1pm North Herts Crematorium on Bedford Road/A600. Afterwards at Baldock Town Bowls Club (Avenue Park Sports Club Pavillion.)Club News - 16th June 2025In the County Team Championship we hosted Bishop Stortford and won 89-38. In the Tony Alcock Competition we played at Sawbridgeworth and won 40-26. In the National Two Rinks both teams played. The A team won at Sawbridgeworth 34-28 whilst the B Team lost to Buntingford 30-40. In the ladies North Herts League we beat St Ippolyts 52-12. Finally in a friendly game we beat Buntingford 105-66. BTClub News - 7th June 2025It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of two of our former club members.
Doreen Blowey and Joy Allison they were both good club members over many years.At this time, the causes of their passing have not been disclosed.

In a friendly match against Fairfield Park we won 64-62.It was a disappointing weekend in the Stevenage Mixed League. We lost at Letchworth on all 3 rinks 31-76 and we lost against Whitethorn 49-56 only gaining 1 point. BTClub News - 26th May 2025Our two teams in the National Two Fours both had good wins in the second round.
At Hertford we won 40-30 whilst at Royston we won 38-27.
In the Stevenage Mixed League we had mixed fortunes on Saturday we lost 51-41 to St Ippollitts 5pts to our 1. However on Sunday we won our match against Whitethorn 50-35 scoring 5pts to 1 which has maintained our position at the Top of the League.
Club News - 19th May 2025In the National Two Fours we played Northaw and Cuffley and won 35-29. In a friendly we played Luton Co-Op and won 75-69. In another friendly we played Sandy Conservative Club and won 57-36. In the Stevenage and District League we played Stevenage. We lost 37-45 gaining 1 point to 5. BTClub News - 12th May 2025This week in the National Top Club we visited Royston and won by four disciplines to one.
In the Stevenage Mixed League we got 6 points by beating Aston 82-26 and got 5 points to 1 by beating Datchworth 69-48.
In friendly matches we beat Letchworth 69-48, Stotfold by 75-54 and drew with Welwyn G.C 63-63. BTClub News - 9th May 2025This week In the Stevenage Mixed League we played at Riverain. We won 47-38 gaining 5 points to 1.
In the National Two Fours we played Bishop Stortford and won 46-8. BTClub News - 28th April 2025The season started with two Stevenage Mixed League games. Against Knebworth we won on all three rinks for an aggregate of 73-31 and 6 points.
We then played Holwell and although we won on 2 of the 3 rinks the score was 48-57 with us scoring 2 points to 4. BTClub News - 23rd January 2025
